I'm Still Here

I know... I don't update this blog as often as I should. Maybe I just spend too much time on Facebook and Twitter LOL.

Things have been pretty good since my last post. Since I write a technology column for Examiner.com, Verizon Wireless sent me a Motorola XOOM tablet (competitor of the iPad2) for me to test for a few months. Sweet!! It's not the iPad2, but I'm in love. I also get to appear on an expert panel sometime in June to discuss it. Yay! I'm an expert (but you already knew that *GRIN).

My music has also been picked up by Emerge. They are a company that plays music in stores while you shop. They are currently playing five of my original songs. How cool is that? And I get payed every time they play one. I might not be Lady GaGa yet, but you have to start somewhere. Who would have ever thought that someone could be shopping for underwear while they hear my music?

Red Tent Radio (the radio show that I edit and appear on every week) is doing pretty well. We got picked up by a radio station in Kansas City, MO a few weeks ago and our listener numbers have doubled.

With all of this success, though, sometimes I feel like the loneliest person in the world. Sometimes, working from home sucks. Don't get me wrong... I wouldn't change it for the world, but I'm a people person and some days my only friend is my computer... (Oh... and my iPhone, of course) And that sucks. Since I'm trying to cast alcohol completely out of my life (watch out cigarettes... you're next), it's kind of hard to find places to hang out with my friends (since they all seem to want to hang out in night clubs. And honestly, where else is there to hang out in Dayton, OH besides nightclubs??)

I guess that's about it for now. I think I'll go eat some rock soup.

[I really shouldn't complain though. We all have our down days, but overall, my life rocks... so yeah... I think I WILL go and make some of that (my life Rocks) soup].
